Dopo il match è stato portato ad una vicina struttura medica come di consueto ma sembra non abbia riportato alcun infortunio. Punk però non ha esitato a commentare la sua sconfitta con un tweet nel quale l’ex WWE Champion ha voluto ringraziare il suo team, i fans e anche Mike Jackson per il match. Dal tweet si può però capire che la sua carriera in UFC potrebbe non essere ancora finita.
