Intervista ESCLUSIVA a Kento Miyahara! Abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di intervistare l’asso della AJPW!
Il nome di Kento Miyahara è ancora una volta sulla bocca di tutti. Infatti, nella giornata di domani il Giapponese lotterà col talento nostrano Francesco Akira per provare a catturare gli All Asia Tag Team Championships. Sarebbe l’ennesimo tassello di una carriera piena d’oro e tutti ci auguriamo possa raggiungerlo. Kento Myahara – The Best of the BEST
Passiamo all’intervista, the BEST of the BEST ci ha delucidato su alcune questioni, mentre in altre si è dimostrato un po’ più schietto.
TSOW: Allora Kento, sappiamo che tu hai iniziato la tua carriera da pro wrestler nel 2008, lavorando per Kensuke Office/Diamond Ring, la federazione di Kensuke Sasaki. Come pensi Sasaki abbia influenzato la tua concezione di Puroresu?
Kento: Da Sasaki-san ho imparato i fondamenti del puroresu. Durante il periodo passato al Kensuke Office, ho appreso la più importante ”anima” del puroresu.
T: Tanti wrestler giapponesi, agli inizi delle loro carriere, vanno in Europa o nel continente americano per imparare nuove e differenti culture di wrestling. Pensi sia utile? Sappiamo bene che anche tu hai lottato in IWRG nel 2012, come ti sei trovato lì?
K: Volevo lottare all’estero. Perciò essendosi presentata l’occasione di lottare in Messico, ho fatto degli incontri lì per circa un mese. Ne ho ricevuto un forte stimolo, comprendendo quanto in realtà il mondo sia vasto.
T: Abbiamo parlato di personalità che ti hanno formato e Katsuhiko Nakajima è sicuramente una di quelle. Il suo stile di wrestling ti ha in qualche modo ispirato?
K: Lui è il mio senpai (compagno/collega più grande o con più esperienza), con lui ho imparato per la prima volta molte cose riguardanti il puroresu.
T: Nel 2014 hai ufficialmente firmato un contratto con la AJPW e nel 2016 eri già diventato Triple Crown Champion. Come è stato essere il Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion più giovane della storia?
K: Io, il più giovane lottatore della storia ad ottenere quel titolo? Quasi non riuscivo a credere che fosse vero!
T: Parlando del Triple Crown Championship, è stato mantenuto da alcuni dei migliori di sempre, The Four Pillars of Heaven, per esempio. Pensi che questo possa rendere la cintura effettivamente il premio più prestigioso della storia del wrestling giapponese?
K: Il Triple Crown Championship è un titolo che ha una grande tradizione, legata a molti storici wrestler. Penso che, attualmente, il Triple Crown sia la cintura più importante del puroresu.
T: In questo Marzo Suwama ti ha privato della cintura ma prima di andare a tutto ciò… complimenti per il tuo leggendario regno! Tornando al discorso Suwama, ad AJPW What Can We Do Now hai visto Ishikawa lottare con tutte le sue forze per arginarlo. Pensi che Shuji sia l’uomo giusto per togliere il titolo a Suwama?
K: Penso che darebbero vita ad un incontro veramente unico.
T: Il dualismo Miyahara-Triple Crown sembra un qualcosa di praticamente inscindibile. Catturerai di nuovo la cintura?
K: Certamente.
T: Tokyo Sports Awards, tutti abbiamo ascoltato con attenzione le parole di Kazuchika Okada. Ha parlato di un grande evento tra AJPW, NOAH e NJPW. Pensi sia possibile?
K: Penso che sarebbe un evento interessante, qualora si riuscisse a realizzarlo.
T: Ti fai chiamare the BEST of the BEST ma chi è il tuo avversario dei sogni nel panorama giapponese?
K: Mi piacerebbe sfidare altri campioni appartenenti alla mia stessa generazione.
T: Siamo attualmente in una situazione molto difficile per colpa dell’espansione del virus ed il wrestling ne sta risentendo. Cosa ne pensi di questa situazione della disciplina?
K: Vorrei fare in modo che i fan che ci guardano attraverso uno schermo provino le stesse emozioni di un match visto dal vivo.
T: In un episodio del Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer ti ha comparato a Ric Flair dicendo che entrambi siete riusciti/riuscite a fare cose semplici ma efficaci. Pensi sia effettivamente così? Come ci si sente ad essere paragonati a Ric Flair?
K: Reputo un grande onore sentirmi dire di avere qualcosa in comune con un lottatore così importante.
T: Il primo titolo da te vinto nella tua carriera AJPW è l’All Asia Tag Team Championship, insieme a Kotaro Suzuki. Come ti fa sentire il fatto che, dopo 5 anni, lotterai ancora per quei titoli e per giunta insieme ad un astro nascente del nostro paese?
K: Farò in modo che il tutto risulti ben chiaro, sia nel paese di Francesco Akira, sia in Asia, Kento Miyahara è il migliore.
T: Akira è arrivato in Giappone e velocemente si è fatto un nome. è stato inoltre il primo italiano della storia a combattere per il World Junior Heavyweight Championship. Ti è piaciuta la sua performance contro Susumu Yokosuka? Pensi che al momento possa essere il giusto tag team partner?
K: È stato un match fantastico, quasi non sembravano due persone che lottavano l’uno contro l’altro per la prima volta. Penso che Francesco Akira, che porta sulle sue spalle le speranze dell’Italia, sia un lottatore straordinario.

TSOW: So Kento, you made your debut in 2008 and you started wrestling for Kensuke Office/Diamond Ring, Kensuke Sasaki’s federation. How has Sasaki affected your conception of puroresu?
Kento: Sasaki-san taught me the principles of puroresu. During my time there I’ve learnt the most important ”soul” of puroresu.
T: Many japanese wrestlers at the beginning of their career go to Europe or the American Continent to learn other countries’ wrestling culture. Do you think that that’s useful? We know that you’ve wrestled for IWRG back in 2012, how was your time there?
K: I wanted to wrestle abroad. So when i got the occasion i started wrestling in Mexico, I’ve wrestled there for a month. Wrestling there gave me a huge motivation and also made my think how the world is actually vast.
T: We talked about personalities that formed you and Katsuhiko Nakajima may surely be one of them. Has his wrestling inspired you?
K: He’s my senpai (a more experienced partner, a teacher), thanks to him i’ve learned for the first time many things about puroresu.
T: In 2014 you officially signed an AJPW contract and in 2016 you were already Triple Crown Champion. How did it feel to be the youngest Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion in history?
K: Me, the youngest man to ever win that title? I almost couldn’t believe it!
T: Talking about the Triple Crown Championship; It has been hold by some of the best ever, the Four Pillars of Heaven, for example. Do you think that that makes the championship the most important prize in all of japanese wrestling history?
K: The Triple Crown Championship has a great tradition thanks to the performers who held it. I think that, now, the Triple Crown is the most important title in all of puroresu.
T: This March Suwama took your title but before going to that… Congrats for your legendary title reign! Returning to Suwama, at AJPW What Can We Do Now you saw in first place Ishikawa battling him with all of his strength and determination. Do you think that Ishikawa is going to dethronize Suwama?
K: I think that the two of them can give fans a very unique match.
T: The dualism Miyahara-Triple Crown looks to me kind of inseparable. Are you going to capture again the gold?
K: Obviously.
T: At Tokyo Sports Awards we’ve listened very carefully to Kazuchika Okada’s words. He talked about a big event with AJPW, NOAH and NJPW. Do you think that’s possible?
K: i think that it could be an interesting event, if they could make it happen, obviously.
T: You proclaim yourself as the BEST of the BEST but… who’s your dream opponent in all of japanese wrestling?
K: I’d like to challenge other champions from the same generation as mine.
T: We’re in a very tough situation because of the Virus that’s expanding and wrestling it’s getting affected by this. What do you think about the current situation of the discipline, what’s your purpose?
K: I would like to make sure that fans that watch us by a screen feel the same emotions they feel when they see a match at the arena.
T: In an episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer compared you to Ric Flair saying that both of you do simple but really effective things. Do you think that’s true? How it is to be compared with Ric Flair?
K: It’s a honor to me hearing that I’ve something in common with such important wrestler.
T: The very first title that you have ever won in your AJPW career is the All Asia Tag Team Championship, along with Kotaro Suzuki. How makes you feel the fact that, after over 5 years, you’ll wrestle again for those titles and, more importantly, along a rising star that comes from our country?
K: I’ll make one thing very clear, both in Italy and Asia, Kento Miyahara is the best!
T: Akira came in Japan and made his name quickly, he was also the first Italian to challenge for the World Junior Heavyweight Championship. Have you enjoyed his performance against Susumu Yokosuka? Do you think he is the right partner at the moment?
K: It was a fantastic match, to me it didn’t seem like two wrestler that never faced each other before. I think that Francesco Akira, who’s carrying with him the hopes of an entire country, is a tremendous wrestler.

TSOW: 宮原さんが2008年にデビューしたのは佐々木健介さんのダイヤモンドリングでしたが、健介さんからはどのような影響を受けましたか？また、健介さんの団体で過ごした時間は宮原さんにとってどのような時間だったでしょうか？
KENTO: 佐々木健介さんからはプロレスの基礎を教えて頂きました。
健介オフィス時代はプロレスの一番大事な精神を学ぶ時間でした
T:日本において、デビュー後は欧州やアメリカへ修行に出るのが一般的だと思いますが、宮原さんはこういうことに興味はありましたでしょうか？また、2012年にIWRGというメキシコの団体で活躍したそうですが(※この時期にメキシコ経験があったのでしょうか？)その経験はどのように生かされましたか？さらに、その経験は日本に帰ってきてどのように生かされましたか？
K: 海外で試合をしたいと気持ちはありました。
メキシコで試合をする機会を頂き、そしてメキシコに1ヶ月程生活して、世界は広いんだと刺激を受けました。
T: 中島勝彦選手は宮原さんに影響を与えたレスラーのうちの一人でしょうか？もしそうだとしたら中島選手のプロレスにはどのような影響を受けたでしょうか？
K: 最初にプロレス界の色んなことを教えて頂いた先輩です。
T: 2014年に全日本プロレスへ活動の場を移し、2016年に史上最年少で三冠を獲得しました。それについての感想を聞かせてください。
T: 宮原さんのライバルの一人に諏訪魔選手がいますが、先日の「いま全日本プロレスにできること」で石川選手が諏訪魔選手に強い決意で挑戦志願したと思います(※そうでしたっけ？)この二人が戦ったらどうなると思いますか？
K: 間違いなくプロレス界で、唯一無二の闘いになると思います。
T: 宮原さんは今後も三冠を狙っていくつもりでしょうか？
K: もちろん。
T: 東京スポーツプロレス大賞の席上で新日本のオカダカズチカが全日本やノア協力のもとオールスター戦開催を提唱しましたが、宮原さんはこれを実現させたいですか？また、実現のためにはどのようなことが必要だと思いますか？
K: 実現したら面白いとは思います。
T: 宮原さんは自分自身を最強のエースと呼んでいますが、日本のプロレス界で最も戦ってみたいレスラーは誰でしょうか？
K: 同世代のチャンピオンクラスのレスラーは気になります。
T: いま世界はコロナの影響で大変な状態です。プロレスも影響されていますが、宮原さんは無観客イベントに対しどのような考えをお持ちでしょうか？
K: 画面を通して見て下さるファンの皆様に、生観戦してる気分を味わって頂けようなファイトを見せたい。
T: レスリング・オブザーバーのディブ・メルツアー氏は宮原さんを「シンプルで効果的な技を使う」という点においてリック・フレアーと共通する点があると主張しています。これについて宮原さんはどのように思いますか？またそれ以外にもリック・フレアーと共通点はあると思いますか？
K: 偉大なレスラーと共通点があると言われることは光栄です。
T: 宮原さんの初戴冠は鈴木鼓太郎選手と獲得したアジアタッグ選手権でした。あれから5年以上が経過し、いま我々の国イタリアからきたフランシスコ・アキラと組み再び同王座に挑戦することはどのような気持ちでしょうか？
K: フランシスコ・アキラ選手の祖国、そしてアジアにも「宮原健斗の最高」を届けたいと思っています。
T: フランシスコ・アキラは世界Jrに挑戦した史上初のイタリア人でもあります。彼と横須賀ススムの対戦は見ましたでしょうか？もし見ていたらどのように思われましたか？また、そんなアキラは今回のアジアタッグ挑戦にあたり良いパートナーだと思いますか？
K: 初挑戦には見えないくらいのファイトでした。
イタリアを背負ってる素晴らしい選手だと思います。
